NPTEL is the largest provider of MOOCs in India today, especially the Engineering stream, with a credible proctored certification exam that clearly qualifies and differentiates the learners who do these courses.

NPTEL ( https://onlinecourses.nptel.ac.in ) offers self-study free courses across various disciplines. Including well-designed evaluation system in the form of assignments on a regular interval and optionally a certified exam at the end of the course, with a nominal fee ( https://onlinecourses.nptel.ac.in ). The courses are offered by the faculty of IITs, CMI, IMSc, etc.
